Lennart Bernhoft

I am 41 years old. For almost twenty of them I have been working with fashion and clothing and half of this period has been outside Denmark.
 

I left the Danish Military in 1991 and a year later I found myself outside Jakarta, Indonesia, working at a shirt-making factory. It turned out to be the start of a long journey with clothing and fashion at an international level.

Carli Gry International A/S (now IC Companys) was one of the “schools” for Danish fashion in 1994. I criss-crossed the world for eight years developing the supply chain for our brands. My areas of responsibility were product development, procurement, production and logistics.

A five-year stint in India and Hong Kong gave me a practical appreciation of the importance of one of the clothing industry’s toughest disciplines: creating and maintaining stable, longstanding supplier relationships. Subsequently, I have been Purchasing Director in charge of ensuring that the clothing brands Jackpot, Cottonfield & Peak Performance were constantly developing.

In 2001, I was unexpectedly given the opportunity to start in business for myself. My aim was to establish an agency-based consulting firm. Eurotex Network was founded.

As fate would have it, one of the world’s largest fashion companies, VF Corporation of the US, retained my services in 2003 to develop their strategy for the renowned jeans brands, Lee and Wrangler. The group lacked a “tops” strategy which I implemented for its European subsidiary in Antwerp, Belgium.

I returned to Danish soil in 2005. Mads Nørgaard – Copenhagen was facing a comprehensive period of growth, and I was charged as Managing Director / CEO, with responsibility for professionalising and internationalising the company.
 

I completed a two-year business study programme at Niels Brock Business College and subsequently served as an officer of the reserve in the Royal Life Guards. I have a management diploma from Henley Management College. In addition, I am currently completing my MBA, also from Henley. Certified in Master Person Analysis (MPA).

I am the father of twins, Esther and Axel, six years old.
